Most of the time I do a posting of an interesting shade/shape/style that we are working on in the Studio, but real life is not about the one-off shades that we style or restore. No - behind the Studio walls, we are actually a little factory, producing lots of little shades, big shades, and lots of middle size shades for hotels, lodges, guest houses and B & B's. Where-with just a little peep of 30 shades we did for a local hotel....

A completely restored lampshade
We received this lampshade to be restored. It was very dusty and the fabric was torn.
It takes forever to clean a frame like this, from all the old glue, fabric, trim and old paint.
But after sanding, a few layers of paint, new fabric and trim.... It looks brand new, again!

Lampshade Doilies
In my linen cupboard, I discovered the most beautiful doilies, which I inherited from my granny. It is so precious and petite, I hardly want to touch it. It would make the most beautiful lampshades - and will cast beautiful shades, with the lights on. I am sure that if you scratch around, you might find some of these too. Soon my doilies will become beautiful lampshades - and contact me should you wish to turn yours into lampshades too.
