A few old lampshades arrived and I wonder what it would look like once recovered?

Granny's Doily Shade
I finished the doily shade today. 3 Doilies, like this one, were used to complete the shade.
I used as small scalloped frame for the lampshade. It was stretched at the bottom and around the edges of every second vertical wire.
First, the doilies were pinned to the shade, to see how and where I could overlap it. Then I sew the top and bottom to the frame. Glass beams and a matching trim were used to finish it off.
I used the teardrop beads on every scollop and the small glass beads right around, just to finish it off. The Beautiful multi-coloured trim was used around the "neck" of the shade.
And this is the final product!
Keep the doilies!!

Lampshade Doilies
In my linen cupboard, I discovered the most beautiful doilies, which I inherited from my granny. It is so precious and petite, I hardly want to touch it. It would make the most beautiful lampshades - and will cast beautiful shades, with the lights on. I am sure that if you scratch around, you might find some of these too. Soon my doilies will become beautiful lampshades - and contact me should you wish to turn yours into lampshades too.

Child under a Lampshade
This lampshade I recovered for the 101 Options Antique Shop, in Main Road, Strand. The stand is exceptional and talks to me! The shade was damaged and dirty. After a few layers of paint, brand new satin & beautiful woven trim in shades of cream, this lampshade is as good as new.
The child under the lampshade will enjoy her reading again! Switch on the light!
